Live and work tax free in Antigua as a digital nomad
Antigua and Barbuda’s “Nomad Digital Residence” programme was created for persons desirous of working remotely from a safe Caribbean island with an advanced telecommunications network.
If you are working in fields such as computer programming, marketing, data analysis, etc... you are in a unique position to take advantage of this initiative. Attaining a digital residency visa from Antigua and Barbuda not only grants you residence for two years in a warm island paradise, but your family will also have access to education as well as a wealth of culture and cuisine during your stay. Once you maintain accommodation in Antigua and Barbuda, you are also free to travel in and out of the country.
To be eligible for a digital nomad visa, you must be employed outside of Antigua and Barbuda or self-employed and working with clients in other countries. If you are the owner of your own company it is required that your company is registered and operating from a different country.
Am I required to pay tax?
Digital nomad visa holders are not required to pay income tax in Antigua and Barbuda but they are still expected to uphold their tax obligations to the countries in which they normally reside.
How long does it take?
Compared to other countries, Antigua and Barbuda's digital nomad visa application process is quite simple. It only takes about 14 days to receive news about the success of your visa application and does require the creation of a company or the submission of a business plan.
How much does it cost?
The application fees are $1,500 for one applicant, $2,000 for a couple, and $3000 for a family with three or more members. The non-refundable application fees and visa fees are combined with the NDR Visa and should be paid before approval.
